Moments of Peace

Good Morning
It has been close to one of those all night keyboard sessions again. Writers are a weird bunch of people are we not or is it just me. Come 7-8 o'clock at night I can hardly keep my eyes open. Come 11 o'clock and I either get inspired or go to bed.
Last night I went to bed as usual and at 2:20 am it was like the light came on and this is where I have been sitting since. Crazy in many ways and yet it happens. I guess maybe the still of the night has it's benefits. Mrs Quill and Quigley have been sleeping the night away and the midnight oil has been burning here.
So please make yourself comfortable. The fire has create a nice warm atmosphere. It is one that is inviting and just begging for company. Rest and be still and know that He is God and He is the same today as He has always been. A kind and loving Father who seeks His children.
Chill is in the Air
We are chilly here this morning but loving what we have had so far. Yesterday morning there was a hoer frost that went through and left in it wake a special beauty all its own. We have had some here the last few years which leave you in awe of the perfection the days sunshine creates a whole new world.
This little guy stand guard out on the back deck watching over the outside world. I have caught Quigley drooling a few times wondering why she can not have it. As if there are not enough toys laying around. It is a full time job cleaning up after her. There is a box upstairs and one downstairs for all her toys. I pick them up and toss them in and it is much like a revolving door. It just keeps coming back.
Her order of business is to greet us at the door with any toys she has handy. Some of her favorites are the homemade ones Dad makes for her. Treat hidden in the anything are a challenge and she loves the game. When ever we go anywhere and leave her behind a milk bone is offered with instructions to not touch it. Low and behold when we come back it is still intact. All it takes is for us to come through the door and she knows it is ok to eat it. Then comes the playtime.
Hoer Frost
Here is a good example of some of the frosts that bless us here. This was taken last month close to the small town I live in. I have taken a few of the exact same spot and this is one of the heaviest I have seen here.
It changes the whole look of the landscape and step up and kick the tree and who ever is standing under it will be just as white. Ask Mrs Quill, the secret is first to run fast enough to not get caught in the downfall. Next is to run far enough to not get the reward you deserve for doing such an unspeakable thing. Can you imagine anyone being so cruel. (As he grins)
God and Nature Speak
Found this picture as well as I was looking through my collection. It was taken in our neighbouring Province of Saskatchewan. The origin of the name comes from the Cree Indian word Kisiskatchewani Sipi meaning swift flowing river which runs throughout the center of the capital city of Saskatoon.
At first when I seen this I was not sure if it was man made or made by nature. It was explained to me by a friend. Some dug up the ground around a power pole years before and planted som Virginia Creeper and this is the result of many years of growth. In the fall of the year it turns a brilliant red and it very noticeable.
What caught my eye is the resemblance of Christ on the cross. It stands a a sentinel at a three way intersection in the heart of the city. It is an impressive sight indeed.
Projects
It is interesting the response we get when we write about some things like a hub I wrote recently about landscaping and the pending summer months arriving here soon. I posted on picture of a project I had done and many sent emails asking if I would write more and share some photos.
This one I found as well while looking through some old photos. It is situated in a mountain town. A project I was offered asking me to match the area in as natural a way as possible. This is what I came up with. Some of the work had already been done but close to a total renovation was need to solve some of the problems. The end result is what you see. This picture was taken from the walking path which runs beside the Bow River behind me. The area is overrun with wildlife who loved the flowers I put in each year.
I will see what else I can find and do a hub of others.
His Design
No matter what man can do God will always outdo him. I too this picture at the top of a mountain a few years back. I have no idea what sort of plant this is. The stocks are very hardy and solid but what catches the eye is the flower. It has a soft woollen feel to it and the twisted flower you see comes just like it is.
In the fall of the year the spores are much the same as dandelions and they fill the air. Hundreds of thousands of seeds move with the slightest breeze. The result after a few years is a meadow filled with this sight.
God has a way of finding a balance in nature and creating a landscape of terrain and plants we can never reproduce with our hands.
Blessings
Over the years I have been fortunate enough to have experienced some of the most wonderful setting the Father has given to us after travelling over this great land. I have lived in cities and some of the most remote locations found in the far north of Canada.
I have been truly blessed in being one with one of our greatest resources being nature. Can she speak to us, she can with her power and might and yet she can be as gentle as the plants in the picture above.
No matter where you find yourself in life I know we can all find peace in nature. I know I have written about this before but for me it is a personal inspiration. I have been asked by several if I would be willing to share one of the first books I have written in the series of seven books called Quiet Reflections. I would love to share it with you and it will be following shortly one chapter at a time. It is a book titled "The Quiet". I do hope you enjoy it and it is not meant to any form of promotion.
Be at peace during this day and know that you are loved by the Father and the many whom have come into your life. Make this day special for you and the many and simply love and be at peace.

This is so nice -should be called 'Chill out with Rolly'-fantastic photos too.
Wouldn't it be good to be able to go to bed when normal people go......I wake up when the world starts to sleep :)
The photo of the Hoer Frost was my favorite. March will be here in a few days and I'm still waiting for winter. I could take a drive into the mountains to play in the snow but there is something peaceful about a snow storm. Not only does it cover the world in a blanket of white perfection people who are ordered to stay home escape the rat race for the day. Voted up and beautiful. Smiles : )
I love the photo of the frost and the words are wonderful. Yes writers get inspiration at the strangest times and that includes at 2am! I vote up.
